Homemade Happiness Soaps Welcome to Homemade Happiness where all of our soaps are made from quality, 100% natural ingredients, including essential oils instead of chemical fragrances. All coloring comes from the use of natural ingredients, including herbs and spices. Oils used are natural oils that are saponified wit h sodium hydroxide (NaOH). (Saponification is the conversion of oils/fat into natural soaps) In the saponification process, the sodium hydroxide is combined with the oils and becomes completely safe. All of our soaps are made from scratch by the old traditional cold process method used by our ancestors, not from premixed, purchased soap bases. When our ancestors made their natural soap, while living on the prairies , they used lard for the oils and lye made by dripping water through ashes. The main o ils used in all of our bars of soap include olive oil , coconut oil , sunflower oil , and castor oil . Additional natural oils like mango butter and avocado oil may be added to various scents of soap. After the soap is made, it is cured for 4 weeks, making a lovely, mild, natural bar of soap. Our packaging is wonderful for gift giving. Each bar of soap is individually shrink wrapped in a beautiful package to help maintain freshness. Because our soaps are made with only natural essential oils, the scents may dissipate over time. This packaging helps maintain the natural scents longer. The activated charcoal benefits skin by drawing oil, dirt, and other harmful substances from clogged pores due to its absorption powers. This soap smells just as sweet as black licorice candy. Citrus Punch: Lemon and orange essential oils provides a great blend of our favorite citrus scents. Orange essential oil is reported to fight acne causing bacteria, reduce appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging. Hippie Soap: This soap has the unique scent of patchouli oil! This essential oil may bring back memories of the past and is reported to provide feelings of relaxation and help with a variety of skin conditions.
