Just unpacked from a box that was packed away some 25-35 years ago comes this beautiful pink Depression Glass cereal bowl in the "Princess" pattern. The "Princess" pattern of Depression Glass was manufactured by the Hocking Glass Company from 1931-1935. Hocking made some of the most beautiful patterns in Depression Glass including Cameo and Mayfair. The "Princess" pattern is equally appealing with its designs of scrolls and urns. It has an Art Nouveau look with Art Deco shapes! After buying and selling Depression Glass for decades I can tell you that this item (cereal bowl) is not so easy to find, especially in good shape. According to the Gene Florence guidebook "Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass" (copyright 2004, 16th edition), these cereal bowls were listed at $42 dollars each - in every color. This particular example is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with no chips, no cracks, and no discoloration. You may find a pinpoint prick or 2 along the inner rim but these are as close to perfect as you will find! On the side without handles, the cereal bowl measures 5 1/4 inches across. On the sides with the handles, it measures 5 inches across (not including handles) and 6 inches across (including handles). The bowl stands 1 3/4 inches tall. A great piece in a great pattern - and not getting any easier to find! Please see all of the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase. You will be happy with this bowl!!
